What do you need from me to get
started on a project? The WordSlingers will first need to understand what type of project you want us to
handle. We will ask you a series of questions to understand the scope of the project, the message that needs to be relayed,
the impact to its intended audience and the target date for completion. You will need to provide us with a contact
who can answer questions that may arise as we complete your project, as well as access to related written materials and other
information that may assist us in completing the project. In some cases, especially larger or ongoing projects, you
may need to provide us with access to subject matter experts. Finally, The WordSlingers require a 50% deposit before
work begins on a project.
How quickly can you get started on my project? When we consult
with you, we will let you know our current capacity and a projected start date for your project. If you have a rush
project, we can discuss that with you and determine our ability to handle the project within your time constraints.
How quickly can you complete the project? The completion of the project
will depend on the type of communication, the length of the piece and the complexity of the material. For example, blogs
and short articles can be completed within a day while newsletters, speeches and brochures will require several days to a
week depending on the length required. Reviews and updates to web content will vary based on the number of pages and
the topic areas to be covered. When we consult with you on a project, we will let you know the expected turnaround time
and will work with you to fit the project into your deadlines.
Can you handle
a rush project? We value your business so if you have a rush project, we will try to work with you to handle
the project within your time constraints. In addition to our core writers, we do have access to additional experienced
freelancers who we can potentially tap to help us handle your rush job. We do charge a 25% fee (of total project cost)
for rush jobs and as in all jobs a 50% deposit is required before work begins. If we cannot handle your rush job within
your timeframe, we will let you know that up front so that you can consider other options.
Who owns the copyright to the finished work? Any client or product specific collateral
or website content written by The WordSlingers becomes the property of the client upon full payment of the project.
Generic work provided to clients by The WordSlingers remains the property of The WordSlingers and the client is granted license
to publish the work as agreed in the project proposal.
What is your revision
policy? You will always have a chance to review any project that we handle for you prior to its completion.
The number of revisions allowed within the project fee depends on the type of communication, the length of the piece and the
complexity of the material. Due to the nature and frequency of blogs, we allow one revision on them. Most
other projects will be allowed two to three revisions and this will be discussed and agreed upon prior to the start of the
project.
How do you communicate with clients during the project? We
use a combination of both phone and email to communicate throughout a project. If a client has a preference for one
or the other, we will respect their wishes as much as possible. In addition, we will do our best to get as much information
from you up front in order to complete the project with as little effort on your part as possible.
